    Job Description

    The Free State Department of Health is offering 27 Graduate Internship opportunities in Office Management across various district offices and hospitals.

    The programme provides graduates with an opportunity to gain practical workplace experience relevant to their qualifications. Interns will work under the supervision of a mentor and perform administrative and office-management duties related to their field of study.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must:

    • Be South African citizens.
    • Have completed Grade 12.
    • Hold an undergraduate tertiary qualification relevant to Office Management or an appropriate related field.
    • Possess an NQF Level 6 National Diploma or NQF Level 7/8 Degree.
    • Must not have previously completed a 24-month internship programme.

    Preference will be given to historically disadvantaged individuals.

    Knowledge and Skills

    Candidates should have:

    • Good communication and computer skills.
    • Sound organisational abilities.
    • Good literacy and numeracy skills.
    • Effective time-management skills.
    • Problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication.
    • Professional telephone etiquette.
    • A neat and well-presented appearance.

    Key Duties

    • Perform basic duties assigned by the mentor.
    • Carry out tasks relevant to Office Management and the intern’s field of study.
    • Gain practical workplace experience within the public healthcare environment.
    • Complete assigned duties under appropriate supervision.
    • Attend the funded Personal Mastery Course applicable to Public Service Graduate Interns.
