    HEAD OF CLINICAL UNIT MEDICAL (ANAESTHESIOLOGY)

    Responsibilities:

    • Provide strategic leadership to improve health outcomes across the province

    • Manage financial resources to ensure sustainable healthcare delivery

    • Oversee human resource planning and development within the anaesthesiology department

    • Ensure infrastructure meets compliance standards for better health outcomes

    • Strengthen knowledge management systems to support research and performance optimization

    • Implement and monitor key healthcare priority programmes

    • Improve accessibility to quality anaesthesiology services

    • Supervise and manage outreach and support services in the Free State Province

    • Conduct and oversee teaching and training of medical officers and interns

    • Participate in compulsory commuted overtime duties

    Qualifications:

    • Grade 12 and an appropriate qualification for HPCSA registration as a Medical Specialist

    • At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology

    • Current HPCSA registration for 2025/2026

    • Valid driver’s license

    • Demonstrated leadership and professional standing (e.g., committee memberships)

    • Proven experience in teaching, postgraduate supervision, and clinical research

    • MMed or equivalent, or a PhD (advantageous)

      • Grade 1: R2,084,754 – R2,212,680

      • Grade 2: R2,279,559 – R2,492,571
