Responsibilities:
Provide strategic leadership to improve health outcomes across the province
Manage financial resources to ensure sustainable healthcare delivery
Oversee human resource planning and development within the anaesthesiology department
Ensure infrastructure meets compliance standards for better health outcomes
Strengthen knowledge management systems to support research and performance optimization
Implement and monitor key healthcare priority programmes
Improve accessibility to quality anaesthesiology services
Supervise and manage outreach and support services in the Free State Province
Conduct and oversee teaching and training of medical officers and interns
Participate in compulsory commuted overtime duties
Qualifications:
Grade 12 and an appropriate qualification for HPCSA registration as a Medical Specialist
At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Medical Specialist in Anaesthesiology
Current HPCSA registration for 2025/2026
Valid driver’s license
Demonstrated leadership and professional standing (e.g., committee memberships)
Proven experience in teaching, postgraduate supervision, and clinical research
MMed or equivalent, or a PhD (advantageous)
