Job Description
Econofoods, a fast-growing FMCG retail company specialising in frozen foods, is seeking a reliable and experienced Festive Delivery Driver to join its logistics team in East End, Bloemfontein.
The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating an assigned truck, conducting vehicle inspections, verifying goods and ensuring that deliveries are completed accurately and on time. The role also requires maintaining proper delivery records, communicating professionally with customers and colleagues, and adhering to road safety regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate the assigned delivery truck and comply with all traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and safe to operate.
- Verify goods and delivery documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Deliver goods to customers accurately and on time.
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery receipts, incidents and accidents.
- Communicate professionally with customers, warehouse personnel and other stakeholders.
- Address delivery-related queries and customer concerns promptly and courteously.
- Report mechanical problems and vehicle maintenance requirements to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep the assigned truck clean, organised and properly equipped.
- Ensure that all necessary delivery documents and equipment are readily available.
- Follow company policies, vehicle operating procedures, safety requirements and the code of conduct.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
- Maintain a safe working environment and comply with workplace safety standards.
- Attend team meetings, coaching sessions and training programmes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve operational targets and team goals.
Job Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or an equivalent qualification.
- At least 3–5 years of relevant driving experience, preferably within the FMCG retail industry.
- A valid Code 14 (EC) or Code 10 driver’s licence, as specified in the vacancy.
- A valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
