Job Description
The District Manager will oversee the performance and operations of a team of insurance Financial Associates. The role involves recruiting and developing high-quality sales representatives, ensuring that sales targets are achieved and maintaining compliance with applicable insurance and financial services legislation.
The successful candidate must have proven experience in life assurance marketing and sales, strong leadership abilities and the capacity to identify opportunities for business growth and market expansion.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit high-quality Financial Associates accurately and within the required timeframes.
Ensure that newly appointed Financial Associates receive adequate training.
Effectively manage and support a team of insurance Financial Associates.
Drive team performance to ensure that established insurance sales targets are achieved.
Monitor and ensure compliance with FAIS, FICA, LTIA and all other relevant legislation.
Implement and maintain effective risk management practices.
Develop existing markets and identify opportunities for market expansion.
Monitor the team’s performance and ensure that business objectives are met.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Regulatory Requirements
Grade 12 (Matric).
A suitable industry entry qualification that meets FSCA requirements.
Must comply with FAIS legislation for registration as a fit and proper individual.
A clear ITC record.
A clear criminal record.
RE5 certificate.
RE1 certificate will be an added advantage.
Valid driver’s licence.
Own reliable transport.
Own cellphone.
FAIS Qualification Requirements
Applicants must meet the applicable FAIS qualification requirements based on when they entered the financial services industry:
Industry entry between 2004 and 2007: 30 credits on NQF Level 4 obtained by 31 December 2009.
Industry entry between 2008 and 2009: 30 or 60 credits on NQF obtained by 31 December 2011, or a full FAIS-recognised qualification obtained by 31 December 2013.
Industry entry from 2010 onwards: A full FAIS-recognised qualification is required.
Experience Required
At least 3 years of proven success in the marketing of Life Assurance.
1–2 years of sales experience.
Experience using the AVBOB production system will be an advantage.
