The Free State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (FSDARD) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for the position of Director: Financial and Management Accounting. Salary
The successful candidate will receive a remuneration package of R1 317 384 per annum (Level 13). The package includes:

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing strategic leadership to the Financial and Management Accounting Directorate.
- Managing financial accounting systems and ensuring compliance with the Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) and other applicable legislation.
- Overseeing budgeting, financial planning, revenue and expenditure management.
- Managing cash flow, financial reporting, annual financial statements and management accounting processes.
- Ensuring service providers are paid within the required 30-day period.
- Monitoring financial compliance and implementing internal controls.
- Leading audit action plans to address findings raised by the Auditor-General, Internal Audit and Audit Committee.
- Managing the directorate’s budget and financial resources.
- Leading and developing staff while ensuring effective performance management.
- Providing strategic financial advice to senior management.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 7) in:
- Accounting
- Financial Management
- Cost and Management Accounting
- Auditing
- A minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience at middle or senior management level in financial management and accounting.
- A valid driver’s licence (except for persons with disabilities where applicable).
- A completed SMS Pre-Entry (Nyukela) Certificate before appointment.
