    The Catering Manager (Healthcare) will oversee all food service-related activities within a healthcare environment. This includes managing kitchen operations, implementing production processes, monitoring food and labour costs, and ensuring compliance with HACCP standards. The role also involves strategic planning, menu development, and ensuring exceptional service tailored to healthcare dietary requirements.

    Responsibilities:

    • Manage daily operations of the kitchen and service areas.

    • Implement and oversee production processes.

    • Monitor and control food and labour costs within budget.

    • Ensure full compliance with HACCP and HSE regulations.

    • Develop, plan, and cost menus, including special dietary requirements.

    • Lead and develop the kitchen brigade.

    • Contribute to the strategic and operational management of the unit.

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant tertiary qualification in Food and Beverage Services or Culinary Arts (compulsory).

    • Minimum 3 years of progressive kitchen management experience (compulsory).

    • Healthcare catering experience (compulsory).

    • Experience working within budget guidelines to deliver results (compulsory).

    • High-volume, complex food service operations experience (desirable).

    • Knowledge of special diets (compulsory).

    • Hospital environment experience (advantageous).

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of catering environments from fine dining to institutional settings.

    • Knowledge of South African and industry-specific laws.

    • Excellent customer service, management, and communication skills.

    • Budget management and cost control abilities.

    • Exceptional organizational and functional skills.

    • Computer literacy and HSE knowledge.
