Job Overview
The Cash Centre Supervisor will oversee the daily operations of the Cash Centre and ensure that all deposits are processed accurately and in accordance with agreed procedures.
The position involves counting and verifying money, balancing and reconciling cash, maintaining records, ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and resolving discrepancies. The Supervisor will also handle client queries, monitor staff discipline and ensure that customer satisfaction remains a priority.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Opening and closing the Cash Centre where applicable.
- Ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
- Counting and verifying money accurately.
- Balancing and reconciling cash.
- Re-counting money when discrepancies occur.
- Ensuring daily reports and statistics are kept up to date.
- Ensuring all relevant documentation is complete, neat and properly filed.
- Ensuring schedules balance with physical cash counts.
- Ensuring registers are used and signed daily.
- Ensuring incident reports are handled as required.
- Responding to client queries professionally and promptly.
- Maintaining a strong focus on client satisfaction.
- Enforcing basic discipline within the Cash Centre.
- Taking accountability for the assigned Cash Centre in the absence of a manager.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- A Grade 12 qualification or equivalent.
- Computer literacy.
- A clear criminal record.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work additional hours when required.
- Ability to identify, address and resolve operational challenges.
Advantageous Experience
The following experience will be advantageous:
- At least two years’ experience in a Cash Centre or a similar role.
- Treasury experience.
