Associate Professor/Professor: Government Management

The Faculty of Management Sciences, through its Department of Government Management, is seeking an experienced academic professional to contribute to teaching, research, and public sector leadership development.

Responsibilities:

Develop academic materials and lecture undergraduate and postgraduate students

Conduct and publish high-quality research

Supervise postgraduate research projects (Master’s and Doctoral levels)

Lead or participate in community engagement initiatives

Provide academic administration and departmental leadership

Teach subject fields including:

Research Methodology and Research Project

Public Sector Management
-
Qualifications:
For Associate Professor:
-
Doctoral-level qualification (e.g. D Tech/PhD in Public Management and Administration or equivalent)
-
Minimum of 6 years teaching experience in the relevant field
-
Proven research output and conference presentations
-
Supervision of postgraduate students (specific supervision and publication requirements apply)
-
Management of at least one research project
For Professor:
-
Doctoral-level qualification (as above)
-
Minimum of 8 years teaching experience in the relevant field
-
Extensive research output and postgraduate supervision experience
-
Leadership in externally funded research projects
-
Experience as editor, reviewer, or external examiner
Desired Qualifications & Experience:

Peer-reviewed publication record with h-index or i10-index
-
NRF rating (advantageous)
-
Teaching qualification in higher education
-
Proven engagement in relevant academic and professional communities
-
Multicultural and industry experience (advantageous)
Salary:

Associate Professor: R1 124 437 per annum (Total Cost to Company)

Professor: R1 320 768 per annum (Total Cost to Company)
