Purpose of the Job
To assist the Installations Technician with the installation and setup of alarm systems, CCTV, intercoms, and access control equipment. The role includes cabling, mounting, powering-up, and walk-testing systems to ensure full functionality, with the goal of becoming independently proficient in technical installations.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience

Education: Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent

Experience: Minimum of 1 year as a Wireman

Technical Skills: Practical electrical or electronic knowledge (advantageous)

Certification: PSIRA Grade C registration (advantageous)
Key Responsibilities
-
Assist with installation of alarm and electronic security equipment
-
Remove outdated security systems from client premises
-
Run and manage new cabling installations
-
Apply glue, drill holes, and mount detectors, lights, control panels, contacts, etc.

Connect alarm detectors and panels; power-up and walk-test systems independently

Assist with intercom, CCTV, and access control installations

Communicate any equipment or tool limitations to the technician

Support user training and assist with system handovers

Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle and work site post-installation
