Job Description
Boitumelo Regional Hospital is inviting applications from suitably qualified candidates for two Artisan Production positions: one Electrician and one Carpenter.
The successful candidates will be responsible for producing, repairing, testing and maintaining equipment, machinery and facilities according to job specifications, technical requirements and recognised quality standards. The roles also involve conducting inspections, ensuring quality assurance, maintaining job records, compiling reports and supporting the supervision and development of staff.
Applicants should have the appropriate trade qualifications and a commitment to workplace safety, quality workmanship and continuous professional development.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
- No previous work experience is required, according to the advertisement.
- An appropriate trade test certificate. The advertisement refers to a Fitter trade test and qualifying apprenticeship or recognised trade-test certification under the applicable legislation. Applicants should confirm the specific trade qualification required for the Electrician and Carpenter posts.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce designs according to client specifications and the facility’s production capabilities.
- Manufacture or produce items using appropriate materials and equipment.
- Ensure all work meets job specifications and recognised technical standards.
- Conduct quality assurance checks on completed work.
- Inspect equipment and facilities to identify technical faults.
- Repair defects in equipment and facilities according to applicable standards.
- Test and repair equipment and machinery in accordance with specifications.
- Service equipment and machinery according to scheduled maintenance plans.
- Verify the quality of serviced and maintained equipment.
- Compile and submit reports on work completed and maintenance activities.
- Provide input into operational plans.
- Maintain accurate job records and registers.
- Supervise and mentor staff where required.
- Participate in continuous professional development to keep up with new technologies, methods and procedures.
Salary and Benefits
Successful candidates will receive an annual salary ranging from R253,341 to R281,172, together with the benefits specified in the vacancy advertisement:
