Job Purpose
The Agricultural Equipment Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, servicing, repair, and inspection of agricultural machinery to ensure it operates safely, efficiently, and reliably. The role supports both workshop and field service operations and focuses on servicing CASE agricultural equipment according to manufacturer and VKB standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (NQF Level 4)
- Completed N2 – Tractor Mechanic
- 2–5 years’ experience as a mechanic
- Knowledge of:
- Mechanical systems
- Hydraulic systems
- Basic electrical systems
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear criminal record
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Commitment to continuous improvement and adding value
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare quotations based on customer requirements and equipment specifications.
- Service, repair, and overhaul agricultural machinery and vehicles.
- Perform maintenance on CASE agricultural equipment.
- Complete service worksheets accurately according to VKB policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety regulations.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Complete warranty and guarantee claims accurately.
- Train and mentor relevant staff on VKB procedures and standards.
- Promote and cross-sell relevant products and services.
- Liaise with internal departments, suppliers, and customers.
- Perform additional duties as required.
