Project Objective
The municipality aims to:
- Upgrade the existing Mashaeng Waste Water Treatment Works
- Increase treatment capacity from:
- 1 million litres per day (MLD)
- to 2.2 MLD
- Improve wastewater treatment performance and compliance with environmental standards
Scope of Work
The successful contractor will undertake:
- Construction and upgrading works
- Installation and commissioning activities
- Civil, mechanical, and electrical infrastructure works
- Testing and operational functionality improvements
The project includes all works necessary to ensure the upgraded treatment plant operates effectively and complies with required standards.
CIDB Requirement
Bidders must have:
- CIDB grading:
- 6CE or higher
Technical Requirements
Bidders are required to submit:
- Valid CIDB registration certificate
- Detailed project programme and implementation schedule
- Fully completed bid documentation
- Bill of Quantities with all pricing completed
- Proof of municipal accounts not in arrears for more than 90 days
OR - Valid lease agreement if applicable
Additional Conditions
- All bid forms must be completed in ink
- Corrections must be countersigned
- Incomplete submissions may lead to disqualification
Skills and Experience Required
The municipality requires contractors with:
- Wastewater treatment works experience
- Civil, mechanical, and electrical construction capability
- Project management expertise
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards
- Ability to manage implementation timelines and reporting
