    Team Leader: Housekeeping UFS Bloemfontein, Free State

    The University of the Free State is seeking a Team Leader: Housekeeping to oversee and coordinate housekeeping operations within student residences on its South Campus. This role includes supervising staff, managing cleaning standards, and ensuring a hygienic living environment for students.

    Responsibilities:

    • Act as stand-in for Housekeeping Managers and manage daily operations.

    • Supervise cleaning staff and distribute cleaning equipment and materials.

    • Conduct weekly inspections and report on hygiene, maintenance, and staff issues.

    • Manage extra hygiene and deep cleaning tasks and ensure adherence to SOPs.

    • Communicate regularly with management and staff regarding operational matters.

    • Monitor inventory and report misuse or maintenance issues promptly.

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and corrective actions.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Minimum Grade 10 (NQF Level 2).

    • Relevant experience related to housekeeping duties.

    • Recommended: At least 2 years’ experience with a colour coding cleaning system and related certificate.

    Competencies:

    • Results-oriented, reliable, and adaptable to changing environments.

    • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.

    • Ability to lead, motivate, and work cooperatively with a team.

    • Knowledge of cleaning regulations and colour-coded cleaning systems.

    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

    Salary and Benefits:

    • Annual remuneration package: R122,167.78 (including benefits).
