Key Responsibilities
As a Supply Chain Clerk, you will:
Creditors Administration
- Capture supplier invoices accurately.
- Create Creditor Payment Advises.
- Verify invoices and supporting documentation.
- Capture supplier information on the LOGIS system.
- Maintain registers of processed payments.
- Provide creditor payment information to relevant managers.
Procurement Administration
- Process purchase orders (POs).
- Verify existing contracts before placing orders.
- Capture procurement documentation accurately.
- Prepare Letters of Award when required.
- Send approved purchase orders to suppliers.
- Record procurement transactions.
- Assist with monthly Supply Chain Management reporting.
- Perform daily procurement administration.
Asset Management
- Maintain asset registers and databases.
- Issue furniture, equipment, and office assets.
- Verify and update asset records.
- Identify obsolete or redundant assets for disposal.
Stores Administration
- Distribute stock items to end users.
- Maintain proper inventory records.
- Assist with general stores administration.
Records Management
- Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of procurement documents.
- Maintain documentation for audit purposes.
- Compile Supply Chain Management reports.
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
No previous work experience is required.
Added Advantage
A National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in one of the following fields will be advantageous:
- Supply Chain Management
- Economics
- Finance
- Financial Management
- Procurement
- Logistics
- Public Management
- Or another relevant qualification recognised by SAQA.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Successful candidates should demonstrate knowledge of:
- Basic financial administration.
- Public Service financial legislation.
- Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).
- Public Service Act (PSA).
- Treasury Regulations.
- Departmental Financial Instructions (DFI).
- Basic Accounting System (BAS).
- LOGIS and other government financial systems (advantageous).
- Batho Pele Principles.
Applicants should possess:
