Job Title: Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor / Professor (1 Position)

Responsibilities:

Teach and assess undergraduate and postgraduate geology modules, mainly sedimentary geology (sedimentology and stratigraphy).

Provide postgraduate study leadership, supervise Master’s and PhD students.

Organize and lead field trips for students.

Initiate and conduct research projects, apply for funding, and publish in accredited journals.

Participate in academic administration, community projects, and mentorship of junior staff.

Engage in academic leadership and contribute to the department’s strategic goals.
Qualifications:

PhD (NQF Level 10) in sedimentary geology, geology, or related fields.

Proven research record with national/international publications.

Experience supervising postgraduate students.

Recognition and involvement in scholarly societies and conferences.

NRF rating or potential to obtain one (requirements vary by level: Senior Lecturer, Associate Professor, Professor).
