Job Overview
Sanlam Developing Markets (SDM), a subsidiary of Sanlam Life Limited, is seeking a Branch Consultant / Financial Advisor to promote Sanlam Retail Mass (SRM) products within a branch environment.
The role focuses on providing sound financial advice, increasing market share, building strong client relationships, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development

Promote and sell SRM product ranges

Understand client financial needs and recommend suitable, affordable solutions

Cross-sell value-added products
-
Keep clients informed of new or updated products
-
Submit new business through correct channels
-
Conduct due diligence and identify potential risks
-
Manage daily appointments and walk-in clients effectively
Client Service & Retention
-
Service and manage client portfolios
-
Send payment reminders and follow up on outstanding payments
-
Manage NTUs (Not Taken Up cases) and implement corrective actions

Maintain client payment persistency
-
Assist clients with alternative payment arrangements
-
Handle policy cancellations and provide alternatives
-
Resolve queries or escalate appropriately
-
Provide continuous feedback to clients
Compliance & Quality Assurance
-
Adhere to FAIS and regulatory requirements
-
Maintain CPD points and required registrations
-
Identify and report potential fraud risks
-
Keep accurate records of advice provided
-
Log all activities in line with regulations and SOPs
Planning & Reporting

Record daily sales and service activities
-
Submit weekly and monthly reports
-
Perform ad-hoc tasks as required by the Retail Branch Manager
Qualifications & Experience
-
Matric (Grade 12)
-
1 year experience in sales or marketing
-
Experience in insurance branch environment (advantageous)

RE5 qualification (advantageous)
-
FAIS compliant (Wealth Management) as per DOFA requirements
-
Class of Business training (to be completed within 12 months if not already obtained)
