    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    To support the Store Manager in running day-to-day operations, leading the team, driving sales, maintaining world-class customer service, and upholding high store standards. You’ll play a key role in staff performance, stock control, cash handling, and ensuring health and safety compliance.

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

    Requirement Details
    Education Grade 12 (Matric); Tertiary qualification is a plus
    Experience 3–5 years as a Store Manager or Assistant Manager, ideally in FMCG retail
    License Valid Driver’s License (own vehicle preferred)
    Technical Skills Microsoft Office proficiency; Stock & Inventory Management; Sales Reporting

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead the store team to achieve sales targets

    • Ensure excellent customer service at all times

    • Handle stock receiving, counts, expiry checks, and merchandising

    • Oversee cash management – floats, banking, and cashier functions

    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, hygiene, and food safety standards

    • Conduct training, coaching, and performance management of team

    • Analyze store sales data and identify areas for improvement

    • Oversee store opening and closing, and security

    • Support and promote Econo Foods’ HO HOLA Culture (recognition & appreciation)
