    The Free State Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Affairs is inviting applications for a Principal: Glen College of Agriculture. This senior management position is based at Glen College of Agriculture, Free State, and offers an opportunity to lead one of the province’s key agricultural training institutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and overall management of Glen College of Agriculture, including:

    • Managing Higher Education and Training programmes.
    • Overseeing Further Education and Training (FET) services.
    • Managing Institute Support Services and Farm Management Services.
    • Driving Total Quality Management initiatives.
    • Developing and implementing institutional strategies, policies and annual performance plans.
    • Ensuring compliance with Higher Education, Skills Development and other relevant legislation.
    • Leading curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
    • Developing business models to enhance income generation for the College.
    • Managing financial, human and physical resources effectively.
    • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen agricultural education and development.
    • Monitoring institutional performance and reporting on strategic objectives.

    Minimum Requirements

    Applicants must have:

    • An appropriate NQF Level 7 qualification in:
      • Agriculture,
      • Education,
      • Business Management,
      • Management,
      • Public Management, or
      • Business Economics.
    • At least 5 years’ experience at middle or senior management level within a higher education environment.
    • A valid Code B driver’s licence.
    • A Nyukela SMS Pre-entry Certificate before appointment.
