    Job Purpose:

    To protect and grow profitable market share within a store by aligning with the Store, Divisional, and Company strategies. The role requires strong leadership, operational excellence, and a focus on customer service and performance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Strategic Management

    • Develop and manage a strategic plan aligned with the division and company goals.

    • Implement and track store-level strategic initiatives.

    2. Sales & Market Growth

    • Drive store sales, transactions, and market share.

    • Meet or exceed sales and budget targets.

    • Promote loyalty programs and 3rd-party credit services.

    • Monitor competitor activity and protect market share.

    3. Customer Service

    • Lead implementation of customer service strategies.

    • Oversee delivery service operations and customer satisfaction.

    • Expand VIP and charge card client base.

    • Recommend product range improvements.

    4. Asset & Risk Management

    • Control shrinkage (stock loss) and protect assets (cash, stock, and equipment).

    • Manage debtors and implement physical security measures.

    • Maintain up-to-date trade licenses.

    5. Human Resource Management

    • Align manpower requirements with company strategy.

    • Develop succession and career planning initiatives.

    • Maintain positive employee relations and forums.

    • Oversee staff training and performance.

    6. Store Standards & Housekeeping

    • Conduct daily store walks and monitor standards.

    • Enforce merchandising and “ready for business” policies.

    • Ensure store maintenance, lighting, and racking are up to standard.

    7. Stock Management

    • Order and receive stock according to policy.

    • Manage damage, excess, obsolete, and slow-moving stock.

    8. Safety (OHSA Compliance)

    • Ensure all health and safety standards are met per OHSA or relevant legislation.

    • Appoint and manage OHSA representatives.

    • Investigate and report incidents.

    9. Expense & Insurance Management

    • Operate the store according to the financial model.

    • Manage expenses within budget.

    • Handle insurance claim reporting and documentation.

    10. CB Way & Compliance

    • Implement company policies and internal control procedures (“CB Way”).

    Minimum Educational Requirements:

    • Grade 12 / Matric

    Minimum Experience Requirements:

    • 3 years of retail management experience (with Matric), OR

    • 5 years of retail management experience (without Matric)
