Job Purpose
To bring static 2D artwork to life through polished animations using Spine 2D, contributing to engaging, high-quality online slot and casino games that are enjoyed by players globally. This is a senior-level technical animation role focused on performance, integration, and creative visual storytelling.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of 2D animation experience using Spine 2D
Strong portfolio showcasing online casino/iGaming animations
South African citizen, remote work ready, and comfortable working UK hours
Fluent in English (written and verbal communication)
Proficient in:
Spine 2D (advanced level)
Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects
Game asset optimisation and export
Integration into game engines (technical pipelines)
Skills & Competencies
Mastery of animation principles, timing, and visual polish
Ability to create both stylised and realistic animations
Experience with technical rigging and Spine advanced features
Strong problem-solving skills
Excellent organisation and file management (well-documented handovers)
Collaborative and team-oriented mindset
Key Responsibilities
Animate characters, symbols, UI elements using Spine 2D
Rig and prepare assets for smooth game engine integration
Optimise animations for mobile and online platforms
Work closely with artists, designers, and developers
Use advanced Spine features and contribute to rigging workflows
Maintain a clean, structured project file environment
Deliver animations that meet technical and creative standards
