Key Responsibilities:
As the CSSD Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Centralised Sterile Supply Department to ensure that sterile, functional, and safe medical devices are available for operating theatres and other hospital departments. Your duties will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the CSSD.
- Leading and managing departmental resources and staff.
- Identifying, addressing, and reporting operational and departmental risks.
- Ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control protocols.
- Managing the reprocessing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices.
- Overseeing stock control and inventory management.
- Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Nursing and
- Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Perioperative Nursing or
- Diploma in Operating Department Assistance.
Experience
- At least 3 years’ post-qualification experience.
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a theatre environment.
Knowledge and Skills
- Infection prevention and control protocols.
- Sterilisation and reprocessing of reusable medical devices.
- Medico-legal risk management.
- Stock control and inventory management.
- Knowledge of statutory healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
