    Purpose of the Role

    The Corporate Assistant provides high-level administrative and governance support to the Corporate Services function within the VKB Group. The role ensures effective implementation of corporate governance processes, maintenance of statutory records, coordination of board and committee meetings, and facilitation of communication across the Group.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    • Diploma or Degree in:
      • Business Administration
      • Corporate Governance
      • Law
      • Related field
    • 3–5 years’ experience in:
      • Corporate administration
      • Governance
      • Company secretarial environment

    Required Knowledge and Skills

    • Strong understanding of:
      • Corporate governance principles
      • Compliance requirements
      • Board and committee processes
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite:
      • Word
      • Excel
      • PowerPoint
      • Outlook
    • Experience with board management systems such as:
      • Diligent
      • BoardPAC (advantageous)
    • Excellent communication skills in:
      • English
      • Afrikaans

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Corporate Services Support

    • Support the implementation and maintenance of the Corporate Services function.
    • Assist in executing the Group’s Corporate Governance Framework.
    • Track and monitor implementation of Board and Committee decisions.
    • Follow up on outstanding governance matters.

    2. Governance and Compliance

    • Maintain and update company registers for all VKB entities.
    • Assist with statutory compliance and corporate filings.
    • Manage recordkeeping and governance documentation.
    • Contribute to risk management initiatives and governance reporting.

    3. Meeting Coordination

    • Prepare and distribute agenda packs for meetings.
    • Coordinate logistics for Board and Committee meetings.
    • Attend meetings and record accurate minutes.
    • Monitor follow-up actions and resolutions.

    4. Communication and Correspondence

    • Handle corporate queries and correspondence.
    • Facilitate professional communication across the Group.
    • Draft, proofread, and format reports and corporate documents.

    5. General Administration

    • Manage document control and filing systems.
    • Maintain confidential records securely.
    • Provide administrative support to the Corporate Services and Company Secretariat teams.
