Job Description
The Cashier will be responsible for administering and controlling all cash and card transactions handled at the VKB Retail shop. The role involves providing excellent customer service, processing payments accurately, managing receipts and assisting with daily banking and back-office activities.
Responsibilities
- Process sales transactions at the pay point.
- Provide professional and friendly customer service.
- Receive customer payments and process the necessary allocations.
- Process card transactions and complete related back-office duties.
- Handle and reconcile cash and cheque receipts.
- Conduct daily banking of all cash and cheques.
- Maintain accurate transaction records.
- Assist customers with queries and resolve transaction-related issues.
- Handle customer conflicts professionally when required.
- Ensure all cash and card transactions are processed accurately.
Requirements
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 qualification.
- Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in a similar cashier or retail position will be an advantage.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English is essential.
- Strong numerical ability and attention to detail.
- Good customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced retail environment.
