    Purpose of the Position:

    To provide excellent customer service, efficiently manage rental bookings, and support the day-to-day operations of the car rental branch. The Car Rental Agent will handle client inquiries, process reservations, conduct vehicle inspections, and promote value-added services.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Customer Service:

    • Greet and assist customers with their rental needs

    • Answer inquiries regarding vehicle availability, pricing, rental policies

    • Address and resolve customer complaints or concerns professionally

    Rental Process:

    • Take reservations via phone, email, and online systems

    • Process rental agreements and explain terms and conditions

    • Conduct pre- and post-rental vehicle inspections for damage or issues

    • Handle payments, refunds, and ensure correct billing

    Sales & Upselling:

    • Promote additional services (e.g., insurance, GPS, child seats)

    • Upsell customers to higher-end vehicles or premium packages

    Administration:

    • Maintain accurate records of transactions and customer data

    • Generate daily, weekly, or monthly rental and performance reports

    Fleet Management:

    • Monitor vehicle availability and coordinate with maintenance teams

    • Arrange for vehicle servicing, pickups, and deliveries as needed

    Additional Duties:

    • Support marketing and promotional campaigns

    • Train new staff on procedures and service standards

    • Ensure full compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and safety protocols

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Matric / Grade 12 (preferred, but not strictly required)

    • Valid driver’s license

    • Previous experience in customer service, retail, or car rental (advantageous)

    • Basic computer literacy (MS Office, online booking platforms)

    • Good verbal and written communication skills

    • Ability to multitask and handle high-pressure environments
