Job Description
Mediclinic Bloemfontein is seeking a Professional Nurse to provide safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care within a surgical environment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a multi-professional team, coordinate nursing activities and contribute to optimal patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team.
- Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
- Create a positive and supportive environment for patients and clients.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of nursing interventions.
- Contribute to a learning environment that develops staff competence.
- Accurately record all stock and equipment utilised.
- Develop and modify nursing care plans according to patient needs.
- Apply appropriate nursing processes, procedures and scientific nursing principles.
- Conduct patient assessments and support effective patient care.
Requirements
Education
- Diploma leading to registration as a General Nurse; or
- 4-year Nursing Diploma; or
- Bachelor of Nursing.
Desirable Qualifications
- Postgraduate Advanced Diploma in Midwifery.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Nursing, such as Critical Care, Emergency Care or Peri-operative Nursing, particularly for placement in a specialist unit.
Experience
- No previous experience is required.
Skills & Knowledge
- Basic Life Support training.
- ACLS, ATLS or PALS training where applicable to specialised wards.
- Computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office.
- Nursing care planning.
- Infection prevention and control.
