About the Role
The Pharmacy Manager will:
- Lead the pharmacy and clinic operations
- Ensure excellent pharmaceutical care and customer service
- Manage dispensary operations, staff, stock, compliance, and finances
- Drive business performance and healthcare service delivery
The successful candidate will report to the Area Manager.
Main Responsibilities
Pharmaceutical Care & Dispensing
- Ensure accurate and safe dispensing practices
- Provide professional healthcare advice and counselling
- Ensure compliance with:
- SAPC regulations
- Good Pharmacy Practice standards
- Legal scope of practice
Operational Management
- Manage:
- Stock control
- Shrinkage
- Housekeeping
- Administration
- Ensure operational efficiency of the dispensary and clinic
Financial Management
- Monitor expenses and financial performance
- Drive dispensary and clinic targets
- Ensure operational viability and profitability
Staff Leadership & Development
- Lead pharmacy staff, interns, and learners
- Manage:
- Recruitment
- Staff scheduling
- Performance management
- Coaching and development
Customer Service
- Improve customer experience and loyalty
- Support ClubCard participation targets
- Integrate pharmacy and clinic healthcare services
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Registered Pharmacist with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience after community service
- Minimum 1 year people management experience
- Registered as Responsible Pharmacist with SAPC
Advantageous
- Retail pharmacy experience
- Unisolv system experience
