Role Overview
This is a B2B Commercial Insurance Sales Hunter role, focusing on sourcing, hunting, and converting new business rather than being fed leads. You’ll manage your own pipeline, build strong relationships with corporate clients, and provide tailored commercial, fleet, and corporate insurance solutions.
It’s a highly target-driven, commission-oriented sales role with autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development
- Actively hunt and convert new clients via cold calling, networking, and face-to-face engagement.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with business and corporate clients.
- Offer tailored short-term insurance solutions across commercial, fleet, and corporate portfolios.
- Deliver on business strategies and key deliverables, growing your client portfolio.
2. Risk & Compliance
- Screen new business to ensure it does not pose a risk to MiWay’s portfolio.
- Ensure adherence to FAIS regulations and internal compliance standards.
3. Client Management
- Provide world-class service to your clients, maintaining a low lapse rate.
- Manage client appointments, liaison, and ongoing relationship management.
4. Administrative & Reporting
- Maintain accurate administrative records and manage time efficiently.
- Prepare for appointments, reports, and presentations using Excel, PowerPoint, and other tools.
Minimum Qualifications
- NQF4 / Matric / Standard 10
- FAIS credits / Full Insurance Qualifications (depending on DOFA)
- FSB Regulatory Exams (RE5) completed
- Valid Code B driver’s license and own reliable transport
Experience
- Minimum 2 years in commercial insurance sales
- Minimum 2 years face-to-face business experience
- Proven ability to source and convert new business leads
