     Purpose / Overview

    The bursary aims to support South African students pursuing tertiary studies in fields aligned with Shoprite’s business needs, while developing future professionals for the group’s retail, logistics, and agricultural operations.

     Eligibility Requirements

    • South African citizenship

    • Academic year: 2nd, 3rd, 4th year, or postgraduate diploma/CTA (depending on field)

    • Minimum aggregate marks: 60% – 65%+ depending on the bursary stream

    • Age: ≤ 27 years

    • Strong interest in the specific field of study

    • Demonstrated potential for career in retail, logistics, accounting, or agriculture

     Fields of Study / Bursary Streams

    1. Accounting (CA Stream – SAICA)

      • BCom Accounting / BAcc (CA stream), 2nd–4th year / PGDA / CTA

      • Minimum 65% aggregate

    2. Supply Chain & Logistics

      • BCom in Logistics/Supply Chain Management, BSc Operational Research, Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Logistics Management

      • 2nd–4th year students

      • Minimum 60% aggregate

    3. Retail Business Management

      • Diploma in Retail Business Management, 2nd–4th year (Advanced Diploma)

      • Minimum 65% aggregate

    4. Agricultural Sciences

      • Degrees in Horticulture, Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, AgriBusiness Management, or Crop/Plant Production-focused Agriculture degrees

      • 2nd–4th year students

      • Minimum 60% aggregate
