Project Objective
To provide loggers (mechanical sleeper handling services) for:
- Loading railway sleepers
- Offloading sleepers
- Sorting and stacking sleepers
- Supporting rail maintenance operations nationwide
This supports railway track construction and maintenance operations
Scope of Work
You will provide:
Equipment & Operations
- Sleeper handling machines (multi-sleeper lifting capability)
- Loading/unloading of sleepers
- Stacking up to required height
- Sorting and classification of sleepers
National Coverage
Operations across:
- Gauteng, KZN, Western Cape, Free State, Limpopo, etc.
- Multiple depots (rail yards nationwide)
Support Services
- Transport of equipment
- Accommodation for crews
- Site security
- Night shift operations
- Safety lighting and controls
Technical Requirements
You must comply with:
Machinery Specs
- Lift multiple sleepers at once
- Reach approx. 2.8m
- Stack up to 9 sleepers high
Certification
- Lifting gear certification (Transnet standards)
- Operator accreditation (TETA / SAQA)
Compliance
- Safety protocols
- Environmental compliance
- QA/QC reporting
- Risk assessments
Skills Required
This is a heavy industrial logistics contract, requiring:
