Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Programme Leadership
- Teach undergraduate & postgraduate modules
- Coordinate modules/programmes
- Implement Work-Integrated Learning (WIL)
Postgraduate Supervision
- Supervise:
- Honours
- Master’s
- PhD students
- Guide research projects to completion
Research & Publications
- Maintain a strong research profile
- Publish in accredited journals
- Participate in interdisciplinary research projects
Leadership & Administration
- Serve on faculty and centre committees
- Mentor junior academics
- Contribute to academic strategy and governance
Minimum Requirements
- PhD (NQF Level 10) in:
- Community Development
- Development Studies
- Sociology
- Anthropology (or related)
- Proven:
- Conference presentations
- Research publications (peer-reviewed journals)
- National recognition in your field
- Supervision of Master’s students
- Teaching experience at university level
Strong Advantages (Highly Preferred)
- NRF rating (or eligibility)
- At least 7+ peer-reviewed publications
- Experience supervising PhD students
- Track record of research funding
- Policy advisory or community engagement experience
- Leadership in curriculum transformation
