    Key Responsibilities

    The Senior Supervisor Tech Operating will be responsible for managing contractors, ensuring compliance with Eskom standards, and overseeing the commissioning and decommissioning of plant components and systems. The successful candidates will lead teams, manage human resources within their section, and ensure adherence to safety, health, environmental, and fire regulations.

    Some of the major duties include:

    • Overseeing decommissioning and re-commissioning of plant equipment.
    • Leading the implementation of long- and short-term operational objectives.
    • Supervising and managing staff within the assigned section.
    • Coordinating and ensuring compliance with technical operating specifications.
    • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies.

    Minimum Requirements

    To qualify for this position, candidates must possess:

    • A National Diploma (Technical).
    • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant technical experience.

    Skills and Competencies Required

    Applicants must demonstrate the following:

    • Strong leadership and coordination skills.
    • Financial and negotiation abilities.
    • Knowledge of fundamental plant policies.
    • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and investigations.
    • Experience in plant commissioning, decommissioning, and re-commissioning.

    • Integrity, honesty, professionalism, and trustworthiness.
    • Experience with TSC 3/NEC 3 contract management.
    • SAP system knowledge.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Senior Technician (Commissioning) role involves identifying, planning, scheduling, and ensuring continuous improvement in power plant operations. The successful candidates will be responsible for coordinating plant modifications, assisting with outage planning, and ensuring the smooth operation of Eskom’s systems.

    Main responsibilities include:

    • Supervising operations and providing technical support.
    • Developing daily work schedules in collaboration with work schedulers.
    • Assisting in the development and execution of outage plans.
    • Advising and overseeing commissioning activities.
    • Performing administrative tasks related to plant operations.
    • Approving plant permits and ensuring compliance.
    • Investigating and resolving recurring operational issues.
    • Managing and coordinating multi-disciplinary projects.

    Minimum Requirements

    To be considered for this role, applicants must have one of the following qualifications:

    • A National Diploma/ National N Diploma (Technical) at NQF Level 6 (with 240 credits) plus three (3) years of operating-related experience.
    • An NQF Level 5/6 National Diploma in Power Plant Process Control plus five (5) years of operating-related experience.

    Skills and Competencies Required

    Candidates should demonstrate:

    • Technical plant knowledge.
    • Understanding of PSR/ORHVS regulations.
    • Knowledge of FFFR (Fire Fighting & First Responder) procedures.
    • Familiarity with control room technology.
    • A strong sense of safety consciousness.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Ability to mentor and coach team members.
