Tender Overview
The South African Social Security Agency invites proposals from suitably qualified service providers for the provision of cleaning, sanitation, car wash and gardening services at designated SASSA offices and facilities throughout the Free State Region.
The contract will run for a period of three years, commencing on 1 June 2027.
Scope of Services
Cleaning Services
The successful service provider will be responsible for:
- Cleaning resilient, stone and carpeted floors.
- Dusting and cleaning office areas.
- Waste removal and disposal.
- Cleaning walls, windows and glass surfaces.
- Toilet and bathroom sanitation.
- Cleaning mobile offices and trucks.
- Cleaning vehicle floors, furniture and exteriors.
Sanitation Services
The contract includes the provision and maintenance of sanitary equipment and consumables, including:
- Toilet paper.
- Hand towels.
- Hand sanitisers.
- Baby-changing facilities.
- Other required sanitary products and equipment.
Car Wash Services
- Washing of SASSA fleet vehicles.
- Car wash services to be provided twice a month at designated facilities.
Gardening and Grounds Maintenance
Services will include:
- Weed removal.
- Grass cutting.
- Pruning of trees and shrubs.
- Litter collection.
- General grounds maintenance.
- Maintaining designated office grounds in a neat and presentable condition.
Technical Requirements
The service provider must:
- Supply SABS-approved cleaning chemicals, detergents and equipment.
- Provide SABS-certified sanitary equipment and consumables.
- Comply with colour-coding standards for cleaning materials and equipment.
- Supply the necessary cleaning and gardening equipment, including vacuum cleaners, scrubbers, mops and gardening tools.
- Implement appropriate occupational health and safety procedures.
- Provide staff training and ensure first-aid readiness.
- Implement incident management procedures.
- Develop project implementation, occupational health and safety, contingency and training plans.
- Provide regular reporting and monitoring in line with agreed service levels.
Service Provider Requirements
Bidders should demonstrate:
- Proven experience in cleaning, sanitation, car wash and gardening services.
- Relevant references and evidence of completed or current contracts.
- Qualified and trained personnel.
- The ability to coordinate services across multiple sites.
- Capacity to provide and maintain approved chemicals, equipment and consumables.
- Experience in developing and implementing project management and safety plans.
- The capacity to deliver services within the required timeframes and budget.
