Job Description
Eduvos is looking for an Academic Content Developer to provide content writing and learning material development services within its Faculty of Information Technology.
The successful candidate will specialise in one or more of the following areas: Robotics, Data Science, Cyber Security, Software Engineering or Network Engineering. The role involves developing study materials and assessments, reviewing and updating academic content, working with subject matter experts and ensuring that learning materials meet Eduvos’ development guidelines and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Learning Material Development
- Develop new learning materials for students, including study materials and assessments.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts within the faculty through communities of practice.
- Develop content according to programme specifications and Eduvos’ brand requirements.
- Follow prescribed content development guidelines.
- Review and update existing learning materials and assessments.
- Resolve content-related queries.
- Ingest module content where required.
Quality Assurance and Content Review
- Review developed material with moderators for quality assurance.
- Submit learning material for copy editing through the approved process.
- Ensure content meets required academic and quality standards.
- Make updates and amendments based on review and moderation feedback.
Learning Management Systems
- Upload or release completed learning materials in the required format to the relevant platform.
- Create and maintain module pages.
- Work with Learning Management Systems such as Moodle.
- Develop interactive content where required.

Minimum Requirements
Qualification
- Master’s Degree in:
- Robotics
- Data Science
- Cyber Security
- Software Engineering
- Network Engineering
- Or a related field.
Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in lecturing and/or developing study materials within the Higher Education sector.
- Experience in creating interactive content on a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Moodle is highly preferable.
- Experience in setting assessments across various NQF levels.
- Academic journal publishing experience will be advantageous.
Technical and Functional Competencies
- Strong writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Competence in the relevant academic field.
- Proficiency in an LMS, particularly Moodle.
- Ability to set up a module page.
- Ability to develop academic study materials and assessments.
