    Job Purpose

    The Lecturer will deliver training and education in Communications, conduct student consultations, support at-risk students, develop assessments, and contribute to academic research and departmental support. The role also involves tracking student progress and analyzing module results.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Teaching & Learning

    • Present content in classroom or online environments based on module requirements.

    • Arrange consultations and support for students.

    • Mark assessments and provide constructive feedback.

    • Employ interventions for at-risk students.

    Assessment & Academic Support

    • Analyze results at a modular level to monitor student performance.

    • Contribute to assessment development in consultation with the academic team.

    • Track student engagement and provide support where necessary.

    Operational Responsibilities

    • Adapt to changing academic environments and digitalized platforms.

    • Adhere to institutional rules and work regulations.

    • Meet deadlines and manage time effectively.

    • Work collaboratively within the academic department.

    Minimum Requirements

    Qualifications

    • Honours degree in Communications.

    • Bachelor of Commerce in Communications.

    Experience

    • 1–3 years of industry-specific experience in Communications.

    • 1–3 years lecturing experience.

    • Solid understanding of South African Further and Higher Education systems and regulatory frameworks.

    • Knowledge of teaching-learning theory, assessment methods, and interventions.
