Agritalent is a specialized HR and recruitment consultancy serving the agricultural sector. Their client, a reputable agribusiness, is seeking a capable Underwriting Officer to support their short-term insurance operations across Agri, Commercial, and Personal lines.
Role Purpose
To handle the underwriting of short-term insurance policies, including new business, policy amendments, and renewals. The role also includes administrative tasks, data management, and liaison with insurers and brokers to ensure efficient and accurate policy handling.
Key Responsibilities

Underwriting of short-term insurance policies:

Maintain and update insurance policies and related documentation.

Liaise with insurers, brokers, and internal teams to manage policy servicing.

Capture and maintain accurate data on internal systems and databases.

Prepare reports related to new business, renewals, and policy changes.

Execute various administrative duties in support of the underwriting function.
Minimum Requirements

Matric / Grade 12

FAIS Accreditation preferred (includes:

Relevant insurance qualification

RE5 Certification
-
Class of Business (CoB) training)

Prior experience in underwriting or short-term insurance

Knowledge of Agri and Commercial insurance products will be highly beneficial
