    Job Overview

    The Matjhabeng Local Municipality invites experienced and qualified suppliers to form a panel of suppliers for the supply and delivery of electrical transformers. This panel will be used over a period of three (3) years from the date of award. Transformers will be procured on an as-and-when-required basis, depending on the municipality’s operational requirements.

    Objectives

    The primary objective of this tender is to:

    • Establish a panel of reliable suppliers capable of supplying transformers.

    • Ensure uninterrupted supply of transformers for municipal electrical infrastructure.

    • Support the municipality’s ongoing maintenance, replacement, and expansion projects.

    • Maintain high standards of quality, compliance, and delivery performance.

    Scope of Work

    The scope includes, but is not limited to:

    1. Supply of Transformers

    • Supply of various transformer types and sizes as required by the municipality.

    • Transformers must comply with relevant technical specifications and standards.

    • All transformers must be fit for municipal usage and should meet safety and performance requirements.

    2. Delivery

    • Delivery on an as-and-when-required basis over a three-year period.

    • Supplier must deliver to designated municipal sites in the Matjhabeng area.

    • Proper packaging, handling, and transportation are the responsibility of the supplier.

    3. Panel Supply Arrangement

    • Suppliers will be placed on a panel and may be issued purchase orders based on:

      • Pricing competitiveness

      • Availability

      • Compliance and quality

      • Response time and delivery capacity

    Technical Requirements

    • Transformers must be compliant with South African National Standards (SANS) and industry requirements.

    • Suppliers must provide technical data sheets and product certifications.

    • All supplied transformers must be new and free from defects.

    • Warranty and after-sales support details must be provided.

    Evaluation Criteria

    The evaluation will consider:

    • Price competitiveness

    • Ability to meet technical specifications

    • Delivery capacity and lead times

    • Compliance with procurement policies

    • B-BBEE status and specific goals

    Skills & Supplier Requirements

    Suppliers must demonstrate:

    • Proven experience in supplying transformers to municipalities or large-scale electrical infrastructure.

    • Adequate technical capacity and supply chain capabilities.

    • Compliance with municipal procurement policies and regulations.

    • Valid tax compliance and CSD registration.

    • Ability to provide after-sales support and warranty.
