     Position Overview

    The Shop Assistant / Cashier is responsible for delivering service excellence through efficient customer service, accurate point-of-sale (POS) operations, and effective merchandising.

    The role ensures customers have a positive shopping experience while supporting store sales, operational efficiency, and brand standards.

     Key Responsibilities

     Point of Sale (POS) Operations

    • Execute all POS activities accurately and efficiently

    • Scan merchandise and process payments correctly

    • Handle ClubCard rewards and enroll new members

    • Ensure safe and secure cash handling at all times

     Sales & Promotions

    • Promote the Clicks ClubCard to customers

    • Inform customers about promotions and special offers

    • Contribute to achieving sales and participation targets

    Customer Service

    • Deliver friendly, professional, and visible customer service

    • Act as a brand ambassador

    • Ensure customers “feel good and pay less”

     Merchandising & Housekeeping

    • Maintain store merchandising and visual display standards

    • Perform housekeeping duties

    • Keep up to date with products, promotions, and events

     Knowledge Requirements

    • Basic maths calculations

    • Retail/FMCG background (advantageous)

    • Understanding of merchandising and promotion principles

    • Knowledge of stock management procedures

    • Customer service excellence principles
