Job Description
The Lecturer in Information Science is responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning to students through both online and face-to-face modes. The role includes preparing and presenting course content, assessing student performance, and supporting learners through consultations and academic interventions. The lecturer is also expected to contribute to the faculty’s academic knowledge base through research and continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging lectures in a classroom or online environment.

Conduct student consultations and provide academic support.

Evaluate and analyse results at a modular level.

Mark assessments and provide constructive, timely feedback.

Implement interventions to assist at-risk students.

Contribute to academic research and curriculum enhancement.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or Honours degree in Information Science.
Experience:

1–3 years of industry-specific experience in Information Science.

1–3 years of lecturing experience (preferred).

Strong understanding of the South African further and higher education environment.

Knowledge of teaching and learning theories and student support services.
