Educational and Experience Requirements
For these permanent nursing jobs, the following qualifications and experience are required:
- Diploma/Degree in Nursing
- Registered as a Professional Nurse with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
Grade 1:
- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Professional Nurse after registration with SANC is required.
Grade 2:
- Experience: A minimum of 14 years of experience as a Professional Nurse after registration with SANC, including at least 1 year of post-basic qualification in a specific specialty.
Key Responsibilities
In these permanent nursing jobs, you will be tasked with the following responsibilities:
- Managing Health Programmes: You will lead the implementation of key priority health programmes such as Infection Prevention and Control (IPC), patient complaints management, and Ministerial injunctions. These programmes are crucial in ensuring the effective delivery of healthcare services at a community level.
- Primary Health Care Re-engineering: One of your main duties will be to assist in re-engineering Primary Health Care (PHC) services in line with government policies. You will play a critical role in ensuring that the health facilities meet the regulated standards, including adhering to the “Ideal Health Facility” framework.
- Providing Clinical Nursing Services: As part of your clinical role, you will provide comprehensive nursing treatment and care to patients. This includes performing clinical nursing practices according to your scope of practice and the health facility’s standards.
