 Programme Purpose 

The internship provides unemployed graduates with hands-on experience in the public service, allowing them to gain practical skills and exposure in various operational and administrative areas within the DFFE.

The programme promotes representivity, including race, gender, and disability, encouraging equitable participation.

Minimum Requirements

• South African citizen

• Unemployed youth

• Have not previously participated in a public service internship

• Completed at least a three-year formal qualification from a recognised higher education institution

• Eagerness to learn and gain practical public service experience

• Ability to follow instructions and work in a structured environment

• Good communication skills

• Professionalism and reliability

 Key Responsibilities / Tasks

• Tasks will vary depending on the department section, but may include:

  • Administrative support

  • Research and data collection

  • Project assistance

  • Participation in operational and policy work

• Interns will work under supervision to gain practical knowledge and skills relevant to their field of study

 Application Procedure

1. Complete a new Z83 form.

2. Attach a CV with at least one reference.

3. On the Z83, indicate “DFFE INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME” and include the reference from the advert.

4. Shortlisted candidates must submit certified copies of:

   • ID documents

   • Qualifications

   • Academic transcripts/records

5. All attachments must be in PDF format as a single document.
