Job Overview:
Workersweb is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Insurance Underwriter to manage and optimize body corporate insurance portfolios. The successful candidate will be responsible for risk assessment, policy processing, regulatory compliance, and customer support. This role plays a vital part in ensuring effective insurance coverage for body corporate clients and maintaining high service standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle all body corporate insurance matters, including underwriting and client support.

Assess risks, determine coverage terms, and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

Administer inbound calls and prepare quotes for customer inquiries.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge on policy details and changes.

Assist customers with completing applications, forms, and required documentation.

Monitor active policies and process necessary changes or amendments.

Support and resolve insurance claims in compliance with company and industry standards.

Manage and monitor policy renewals and prepare necessary reports.

Maintain accurate billing records in integrated systems (e.g., Docuware).

Provide professional customer service to internal and external clients.

Ensure performance goals and customer service standards are met.
Minimum Requirements:

Grade 12 (Matric)

RE5 qualification (mandatory)

2–3 years of experience in underwriting processing

Experience or understanding of body corporate insurance (preferred)

Prior short-term insurance experience (advantageous)
Key Competencies:

Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities

Excellent communication and negotiation skills

Knowledge of insurance regulations and industry standards

Familiarity with policy management systems (e.g., Docuware)

Salary:
R13 000.00 per month (Negotiable based on experience)
