Objective:
Purchase, collect, and remove a scrap ASEA 135 MVA, 275/132/11kV transformer (Serial No. 3717927) without oil, ensuring safe disposal, environmental compliance, and proper site management.
Scope of Work
- Transformer Handling:
- Inspect and view the transformer (optional, 25 March 2026)
- Submit formal offer to purchase via the specified email
- Remove the scrap transformer safely from the site
- Handle any residual oil responsibly
- Site Management:
- Leave the site clean after removal
- Rehabilitate any oil spills or environmental impact caused during removal
- Comply with Eskom’s site-specific rules
Technical Requirements
- Demonstrate technical capability to dismantle and remove a large transformer
- Develop and submit a Health and Safety Plan
- Comply with environmental legislation and provide environmental policies/audit reports
- Submit relevant permits, licenses, and certificates (e.g., Second Hand Goods Act certificate, CSD registration)
- Implement environmental management measures for residual oil and waste
Skills & Competence Required
- Experience in dismantling and removing large electrical equipment safely
- Knowledge of environmental legislation, waste management, and hazardous material handling
- Safety management skills with compliance to Eskom rules
- Ability to manage site access, security, and clean-up
- Financial capacity, including valid tax and compliance certificates
