Job Summary
Matjhabeng Local Municipality invites qualified and experienced suppliers to be appointed to a panel of service providers for the supply and delivery of Low Voltage (LV) and Medium Voltage (MV) electrical cables. The panel will operate for a period of three (3) years from the date of award, with deliveries made on an as-and-when-required basis to support municipal electrical infrastructure projects, maintenance, and emergency works.
Objectives
The objectives of this tender are to:
- Establish a reliable panel of approved LV and MV cable suppliers
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of electrical cables for municipal operations
- Support electrical network maintenance, upgrades, and new installations
- Achieve cost-effective procurement through competitive pricing
- Ensure compliance with electrical safety and quality standards
Scope of Work
1. Supply of Electrical Cables
The appointed suppliers will be responsible for supplying:

Low Voltage (LV) electrical cables

Medium Voltage (MV) electrical cables
-
Cables of various sizes, ratings, and specifications as required by the municipality
2. Delivery

Supply and delivery to municipal depots or project sites

Delivery on an as-and-when-required basis

Emergency and scheduled deliveries when required
3. Contract Period

Three (3) years from date of award

No guaranteed minimum quantities

Orders issued based on municipal needs and budgets
Technical Requirements
Suppliers must ensure:
- Electrical cables comply with specified voltage ratings and standards
- Products meet applicable SANS / IEC standards (as specified in tender documents)
- Consistent quality and certification of supplied cables
- Proper packaging, labeling, and handling during transportation
- Compliance with municipal SCM and procurement policies
