Job Overview:
The Sales Assistant plays a key role in delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to the store’s overall sales performance. This role involves assisting customers, processing transactions, maintaining store presentation, and upholding company standards to create an inspiring and enjoyable shopping experience. You will help drive sales by identifying opportunities, adhering to stock control processes, and supporting visual merchandising efforts while ensuring that customer interactions are friendly, professional, and helpful.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Sales

Provide exceptional customer service using effective selling techniques.

Build professional and supportive relationships with customers.

Consistently meet individual sales targets.

Identify opportunities to increase store turnover.
Store Operations

Process all transactions accurately (cash, card, vouchers, coupons, loyalty cards, etc.).

Ensure all outgoing stock is scanned and paid for.

Attend to stock queries and resolve issues promptly.

Maintain housekeeping standards and support visual merchandising.

Report customer compliments and complaints to management.

Adhere to stock loss control procedures.
Store Environment

Minimum Requirements
Essential:

Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent.

Up to 6 months retail experience.

Ability and willingness to work retail hours.

Clear credit and criminal record.
-
South African citizen.
Advantageous:

1 year retail experience.
-
Computer proficiency (Microsoft).
-
Good communication skills.
-
Knowledge of current clothing trends / outdoor lifestyle (brand-dependent).
