Role Purpose:
To teach and mentor culinary students by delivering both practical and theoretical training that aligns with industry standards and education authority (SETA/QCTO) requirements. The role also includes assisting with food production, menu planning, and recipe development.
Key Responsibilities:
Training & Facilitation:

Deliver cookery lessons (practical + theory)
-
Guide students through accredited training programs

Ensure compliance with curriculum, SETA, and QCTO standards

Support students with mentoring and development
Kitchen Duties:

Assist with menu planning and recipe creation

Oversee or participate in in-house catering or demo cooking
-
Maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic kitchen/training environment
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
-
Culinary Qualification (NQF 5 or higher) – Essential
Experience:
-
5 years as a chef in a 4- or 5-star establishment – Essential

Training or teaching experience – Advantageous

Assessor/Facilitator accreditation with SETA/QCTO – Advantageous
