Job description
The Cashier is responsible for delivering excellent customer service by accurately and efficiently processing customer transactions on the Point of Sale (POS) system. The role focuses on speed, accuracy, hygiene, and sales support through upselling and customer engagement, ensuring a positive customer experience in a quick-service restaurant (QSR) environment.
The role of a cashier is vital in ensuring smooth operations at a restaurant.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Process customer orders accurately and timeously according to SOPs

Maintain a high speed of service during busy periods

Accurately process all payment types in line with SOPs

Educate customers on current promotions and menu offerings

Drive sales through upselling and suggestive selling techniques

Increase average ticket value

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of counter and service areas

Ensure Front of House (FOH) stock levels are maintained according to SOPs
Minimum Requirements

Senior Certificate (required)

National Senior Certificate (preferred)

Well-developed literacy and numeracy skills

Minimum 1 year cashier experience (QSR environment preferred)
