Job Purpose
Design, implement, secure, and optimize enterprise server and cloud infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of core systems supporting institutional operations and digital transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & System Management
-
Monitor and optimize server and cloud environments.
-
Provide enterprise infrastructure support.
-
Manage and automate backup, recovery, and data protection processes for business continuity.
-
Implement ICT security measures to safeguard systems, networks, and data.
Systems Knowledge
-
Work with common server hardware (CPU, memory, disk arrays, SANS).
-
Maintain distributed information systems and hyperconverged infrastructure.
-
Administer operating systems (Windows, Linux) and virtualization platforms.
-
Manage networking services, web-based systems, and related protocols.
Minimum Qualification & Experience
-
National Diploma in IT, Information Systems, or Computer Systems Engineering (NQF Level 6) or equivalent recognized by SAQA.

3 years’ experience in enterprise server, virtualization, or cloud infrastructure environments.

Relevant certifications:
-
Microsoft Windows Server Administration
-
Windows Azure Administration
-
Microsoft Hyper-V Administration
-
VMWare Data Centre Virtualization

Desired Qualification & Experience
-
Advanced Diploma (NQF Level 7) in relevant IT field.

5 years’ experience in enterprise server, virtualization, or cloud infrastructure environments.

Advanced certifications:

Linux Foundation Certified Engineer (LFCE)
-
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
-
VMWare Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP – Design/Deploy)

Skills and Competencies
-
Knowledge of enterprise server hardware, storage, and networking.

Strong understanding of operating systems, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
-
Security-conscious with experience in implementing ICT controls.

Ability to automate processes and manage backups.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.
