Job Purpose
To appoint a qualified contractor to perform coating and rubber lining repairs on the main condensers of Units 1 to 6 at Lethabo Power Station. The work is required during scheduled outages over a five-year period to ensure integrity, reliability, and performance of condenser components.
Scope of Work
The appointed contractor will be responsible for:

Coating repairs on condenser tubesheets

Rubber lining repairs on Waterboxes
-
Rubber lining repairs on Waterbox cross-over piping
-
Work to be performed on Units 1 to 6 during scheduled outages over a five-year period

Coordination with Eskom’s outage schedules and plant maintenance teams
Technical Requirements
The contractor must:

Prepare and treat surfaces of tubesheets and piping correctly
-
Apply appropriate coating systems to prevent corrosion and degradation
-
Remove and replace rubber linings in Waterboxes and cross-over piping
-
Comply with Eskom’s Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards

Provide proof of safety, environmental, and quality management systems
-
Coordinate work efficiently to minimize downtime during outages

Meet relevant standards and specifications applicable to power plant maintenance
-
Be CIDB registered where required
Skills & Competency Requirements
The tenderer must demonstrate:

Proven experience in coating and rubber lining repairs for power plant condensers and piping

Qualified technical personnel in:

Rubber lining installation

Ability to work safely in heavy industrial environments

Track record of similar maintenance projects in power generation or industrial sectors
