    Code 10 Driver Job Description 

    The successful candidate will be responsible for traveling to different farms every day to perform fogging and dry-cleaning duties in chicken houses. This is a solo role, with up to 90% of your time spent on the road and on-site, making it ideal for someone who enjoys independent work and being active.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Drive to various farms daily to carry out fogging and cleaning of chicken houses.

    • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for dry-cleaning tasks from start to finish.

    • Ensure fogging is only done after all chickens have been removed from the houses.

    • Fill out checklists before starting the machine to ensure safety and readiness.

    • Secure the premises after cleaning to prevent unauthorized access.

    • Refill the machine with diesel at the end of each shift for the next day’s work.

    • Carry out minor mechanical repairs on the fogging equipment when necessary.

    • Assist with any other duties required by management.

    Requirements

    • Matric certificate (Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Level 4).

    • Code 10 Driver’s License with a valid PDP.

    • Previous experience in dry-cleaning chicken houses is essential.

    • A good understanding of the layout and working of chicken houses.

    • Basic mechanical knowledge is a big advantage.

    • Must be able to communicate in Afrikaans due to regular interactions with farm growers.

    • Strong people skills for dealing with clients and coworkers.

    • Willing to work overtime, including Saturdays and Sundays.

    • Able to interact respectfully and professionally with clients.

    • Can work well with others and on your own.

    • Good communication – both spoken and written.

    • Able to analyze and report information clearly.

    • Can handle solo tasks responsibly and independently.
