Position Summary
MayFly Agri (Pty) Ltd is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Field Biologist to support the planning, execution, and monitoring of high-quality agricultural trials. The role focuses on field-based research activities including planting, evaluating crop performance, pest monitoring, harvesting, and delivering accurate, reliable data to support the organisation’s research and development goals.
This position is ideal for individuals with a strong agricultural background, hands-on field experience, and excellent communication skills, especially when working with farmers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities

Recruit farmers to participate in field trials.

Oversee planting operations and conduct land inspections.

Evaluate crop health, assess pests, and identify potential threats.

Conduct quality control across all research activities.

Harvest crops and ensure accurate data collection and delivery.

Maintain detailed documentation and manage digital trial records.

Ensure full compliance with production procedures and research protocols.

Take on management responsibilities as required during project execution.
Minimum Requirements

B.Sc., National Diploma, or B-Tech in Agriculture (essential).

Strong understanding of production planning.

Practical field experience such as farm work, research trials, or similar agricultural environments.

Excellent communication skills for interaction with farmers and internal management.

Valid South African driver’s license.
